Bryennios, Nikephoros the Younger

Historian and general. He was the son (or grandson) of general Nikepheros Bryennios (q.v.), who rebelled in 1077. Nikephoros campaigned with Alexios I Komnenos (q.v.) and ended up marrying Anna Komnene (q.v.). He wrote a memoir that traces the family history of the Komneni; the most useful part of it concerns events from 1070-1079.
